Peel Children & Youth Initiative

At the Peel Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI) our mission is to provide every child, youth and young adult (0-24 years) with the opportunity to live in a safe and healthy environment, realize their potential and achieve success, and contribute to their community in meaningful ways. To do this well, we rely on our community partners and the ideas and insights of the children, youth and families who live in Peel!

Using research as a foundation, PCYI continually engages and works with all levels of government, opinion-leaders and decision makers to champion the needs of children and youth in our community.

Research like this is critical to ensuring our children and youth have the opportunity to be the best they can be. PCYI conducts local research and examines best practices around the world to assess our community – asking questions like:

  • What opportunities are available for children and youth?
  • What programs are children, youth and parents interested in?
  • Can all children and youth access these programs?
  • Can we do it better? What’s missing?
  • Who can we partner with to fill the gaps?
